Projects Update
Greetings, Lingle! We have made significant progress despite the setback caused by Monday’s straight-line winds, which caused damage throughout the town.
We have cleared the majority of downed trees in town, but there are still a few locations that require attention. However, our backhoe has blown a hydraulic line, so it will be out of service until the line is repaired. It’s in the shop now with our friends at Brown Company in Torrington.
The pool is fully operational. The filters are working hard to keep up with the rain and storms, but they are managing the task effectively. I spoke with Emily, and the lifeguards are scheduled to complete their training very soon. Emily anticipates the pool will be open on Sunday or Monday.
We are incredibly thankful for the assistance of AJ Lambert in finishing the repairs on the street sweeper. It was quite a task, but the four of us were able to accomplish it. We will begin street sweeping as soon as the rain gives us a break and the remaining trees are cleared from the roadways. We will post sweeping locations as soon as we can.
Lastly, but certainly not least, Monday marks the start of our Community Clean-Up event in cooperation with our friends at TDS. The event runs Monday, June 9, through Monday, June 16. We will work hard to get the alleys cleaned up as swiftly as possible, but please understand we are at a disadvantage without the backhoe.
Thank you and have a wonderful weekend!
