Town hosts annual Christmas lighting contest

LINGLE – The cool air and occasional snowfall serves as a reminder that it’s almost Christmas. With the approaching holidays, the Town of Lingle would like to remind residents of its annual Christmas lighting contest.

The Lingle Town Council asks residents to vote for the best decorated houses in Lingle. To cast a vote, stop in at Lingle Town Hall, 220 Main Street. Votes must be submitted by Dec. 29.

During the Dec. 3 Lingle Town Council meeting, Councilman Jeff Jerome proposed a change to the voting process by asking residents to cast votes for the contest rather than the council choosing the winners. The council agreed this would be a positive way to engage citizens, and decided to change the contest to a public vote.
